City of Nightmares

So I finally finished this one and I have to say that I didn't really enjoy it. Urban fantasy is not one of my favourite genres but in this case, the world wasn't where I had issues, it was the characters and the writing. I think technically speaking a book about vampires and other creatures should have been amazing but I just couldn't get myself to care about any of the characters. The characters felt kind of flat and the people at the end who ended up being important to the plot were only in the book for a few short pages which didn't make a lot of sense. The writing was also cringy at times and often had me wanting to put this one down. 

Overall, I'm glad I finished it for another book to go towards my Goodreads goal, but I will not be picking up the sequel for this one.
