Hope and Other Punch Lines By Julie Buxbaum *REVIEW*
Hope and Other Punch Lines
By Julie Buxbaum
I have enjoyed Julie Buxbaum's books in the past but I was a little hesitant to pick this one up as I was a bit unsure on how I would feel about the 9/11 aspect to it. I also thought that this was based on a real "baby hope" so I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. I have to say however that I was pleasantly surprised! This story is told in two POV of our main characters, Abbi and Noah. Both perspectives were really distinguished and I didn't have any trouble remembering who was the one "speaking" in the chapter. I also really enjoyed the plot and how there was not too much time at summer camp and not too many interviews. The side characters were also really flushed out and an enjoyable add to the story. The slow burn romance was perfectly done and the inclusion of text messages between characters was also a nice addition. Overall, I had a really good time reading this one, I just wish it was a little longer.
