Supernova by Kass Morgan *REVIEW*
Supernova

Before I start this review I want to say thank you to HBG Canada for sending me an arc of Supernova to read and review.
This is a bit of a harder review to write. I really wanted to love this book as much as I did the first book, Light Years, but this one just didn't quite live up to my expectations. After the first book left off I anticipated this one to be really fast paced from the get go but it felt as if the first 25% was kind of slow and felt more like a recap of the last book than it did a new book on its own. There was some new information and events happening in that first 25% but it wasn't as exciting as I had hoped it to be.
We were introduce to some new characters and reintroduced to some old in this book and it felt that for some of the old cast of characters, namely Admiral Haze, it just felt like she was a whole new character than she was in the first book, I know that mainly has to do with character development but it just didn't seem believable at times that her character evolved in certain ways.
I don't want to get into too much detail as to spoil the story but I felt that most of the events that happened in book one ended up just being somewhat anticlimactic in Supernova, if that makes sense. There was just so much buildup for certain things and it felt like the payout that we got was slightly under the bar of where I think it should have been. The ending events also felt a bit rushed but I did enjoy the bit of a time jump at the end.
Overall, Supernova wasn't my absolute favourite book I've ever read but I liked going back and revisiting this amazingly crafted world and characters. Even though I didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping to it still felt like a pretty solid conclusion to the story for the most part and recommend picking it up if you were a fan of Light Years.
